A Home Layered in Time: Central Park West
The Langham stands as one of New York City’s great architectural landmarks — a turn-of-the-century building completed in 1906, its Central Park West facade steeped in history. When our client entrusted us with their home inside this storied building, preserving the integrity of that original architecture was non-negotiable.
Their collection of Asian art became the soul of the design — pieces spanning centuries, from antique fans passed down through generations to a striking lotus light fixture Roughan sourced in Paris.
Every pairing of old and new was intentional, chosen not just for how it looked, but for how it lived. Because a home this rich in history still has to work as a home.
Roughan collaborated with Lori Weitzner on a number of fabrics and wallcoverings. The colors in the Weitzner collection are so rich in color and pattern that it was the perfect pairing, and it’s seen throughout the apartment.
Every room was designed to be lived in, not simply admired.
